"2013 was a year of accomplishments for Nestlé Malta, not solely from a business perspective but also from an achievements point of view. The highlight of 2013 was definitely the visit to Malta by the Nestlé Executive Vice-President and Zone Director of Europe, Laurent Freixe accompanied by a top-level delegation from Nestlé which also included Corporate HR for Zone Europe, Alfredo Silva and Head of Operations for Zone Europe, Paul Kiortsis. The events surrounding this high-profile visit were a unique experience that made us proud”.

This was announced by Naum Janakiev, Country Manager Nestlé Malta during the annual end of the year reception held at the Grand Hotel Excelsior.

Mr Janakiev also spoke about Nestlé Malta’s commitment to participate in the Nestlé European Youth Employment Initiative aimed at creating 20,000 positions for young people under the age of 30 across Europe over the next three years.

Mr Janakiev also looked back at some of the other highlights and marketing campaigns that made this year, one of significant accomplishments. He referred to the ‘The Feel Good, Looks Good, Tastes Good’ flash mob initiative by Nescafé Dolce Gusto in Valletta was seen by over 70,000 viewers in a matter of weeks.

He also spoke about how Nestlé Malta prides itself in being at the forefront of helping the local communities achieving their goals. In October, Nestlé collaborated with the Birgu local council to light up the fortified harbour town with thousands of candles during the annual candle-light festival by donating empty Nescafé glass jars.

In conclusion Mr Janakiev said that, “The Company has also associated itself with various sporting events such as the Fitness International Challenge Marathon and the Malta Golf Association shield. These events are always a great opportunity to emphasise our commitment to promote healthy lifestyle initiatives taking place in the community where we operate.”

On a concluding note he thanked the management and staff for their commitment for making this year a memorable one. He said that without their continuous drive, the objectives set for 2013 would not have been achieved.
