Nestlé was this year one of the sponsors of the 60-hour football marathon which raised over €1.6 million for Puttinu Cares from contributions from the participating teams and the public.
The Nestlé sponsorship consisted of a donation of a wide selection of Nesquik cereal bars and ice-cream, as well as 30 Kit Kat football which were used during the numerous football games that were held over the 60 hour marathon. The marathon weekend also comprised of a big funpark with water zorbing, train rides, quad bikes, trampolines, slides, inflatable castles, aerial ropeway, kids playing areas, sumo wrestling and animation for the children. In the evening a highly entertainment programme with the participation of some of the most popular TV personalities in Malta was hosted on the main stage.
Speaking about the sponsorship to Puttinu Cares, Alfred J Borg, Group Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager, Nestlé Malta said that “this sponsorship forms part of our commitment to support events aimed at raising funds for one of the largest charitable institutions in Malta. Our contributions also forms part of our corporate social responsibility programme which seeks to alleviate some of the hardships being faced by certain members of our community.”
