He confirmed that 145 runners are expected to take part in the race. “The perfect number for a quality race, given the confirmed participation of last year’s winner and runner-up the Polish Bartek Mazerski and Russian Vladimir Sementsov respectively as well as the exciting talent of Vincenzo Scuro. Six-time winner Carmen Hili has also confirmed her participation for this year’s women’s event,” he  explained.

On her part, Melania Pellicano, Product Manager at Nestlé Malta said that Nestlé Malta was delighted to be associated with this prestigious event, now in its 23rd edition.

“Our sponsorship agreement with the Malta International Challenge through the Fitness brand, now running in its third year , is in line with our philosophy in favour of an active and healthy lifestyle, attributes that are constantly being promoted through our Fitness brand,” she explained.

“All Nestlé Fitness products effectively contribute towards a balanced healthy diet. However, we all know that a diet must be supplemented with physical exercise and that’s why we are joining forces with the Malta International Challenge Marathon,” she added.

The first edition of the Malta International Challenge was held in 1991 and was won by the Englishman David Mansbridge.
